View protocol endpoints

VMware vVols enables data replication, snapshots, and encryption to be controlled at the VMDK level instead of the LUN level, where these data services are performed on a per VM (application level) basis from the storage array.

About this task

To view the protocol endpoints list:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Storage > vVol Dashboard.
  3. Click Protocol Endpoints to display the Protocol Endpoints list view.
    The following properties display:
    • Name—The volume ID of the protocol endpoint
    • Masking View—Indicates, using a An icon showing a tick symbol on a green background or An icon showing an X symbol on a red background icon , if the protocol endpoint is in a masking view or not.
    • Storage Groups—The number of associated storage groups

    The following controls are available:
